November 3 – Daylight savings time 2 AM (turn clock one hour forward)

November 4 – P.S. 1 Photo Day for all grades – Please dress your child appropriately for this special day. Retakes and absentees will have photos taken on November 12^th (no class photo retake)

November 5 – Election Day (Students will not be in attendance)

November 11 – Veterans Day (School will be closed)

November 12 – Deadline to submit a Request for Testing (RFT) form online: MySchools.nyc.gov for Gifted and Talented program (for current Pre-K – 2nd grade students).  For K – 2 parents/guardians, if you are interested please stop by the main office to pick up the Gifted and Talented Admissions Guide along with your child’s student ID #.

November 14– Parent Teacher Conferences – Children will be dismissed at 11:30 am (half day of school for students). Parents and/or Guardians are encouraged to visit your child’s teacher with your child present and pick up his/her report card (1:00 – 3:30 and 5:00 – 7:30 pm).  Sign-up sheets will be available by your child’s class morning line-up area a week prior to conferencing. It is an opportunity for parents and guardians to meet with your child’s teacher to share concerns and learn about your child’s progress and development in school. Please also visit the health booths in the gymnasium after your conferences.

***The school will provide Cantonese, Fujianese, Mandarian and Spanish translations and interpretation.

November 28 & 29 – Thanksgiving Recess (School will be closed)

A Look ahead for December

The Kindergarten online application period opens in early December for families with children born in 2015 – You may apply for 2020 – 2021 school year enrollment through the Department of Education website:  MySchools.nyc by January 21, 2020.  The Kindergarten Admissions Guide will be backpacked home with Pre-K students. Your child’s student ID # has been provided for you on the label inserted on the booklet.

December 20 – Winter Assembly

December 23, 2019 – January 1, 2020 – Winter Recess (School will be closed)

Thursday, January 2, 2020– Students return to school

 11月3日：冬令時間開始，請把時間調慢一小時

11月4日：公立第一小學照相日。 將會是所有年級的學生在同一天完成。請為貴子女在這特別的一天穿著打扮。重拍日將會是11月12日（為11月4日拍照當天缺勤學生重拍，但將不安排集體照的重拍）。

11月5日：選舉日 (學生放假)

11月11日：退伍軍人節（學校放假）

11月12日：優資班考試申請表格遞交截止日（為目前就讀學前班至二年級學生之考試申請）。有興趣讓貴子女參加優資班考試的家長可以上網在MySchools.nyc.gov提交表格或前往學校辦公室索取表格以及申請指南手冊和貴子女的ID號碼，詳細填寫後交還到學校辦公室。

11月14日：家長教師座談日（下午1點至3點30分以及下午5點至7點30分）, 學生上課半天，上午11點30分放學。這是讓家長和監護人與孩子的老師會面的一個很好的機會，分享和了解貴子女在學術上的發展和進度，並於當天獲取貴子女的成績單。

*** 學校將提供廣東話，福建話，普通話和西班牙語的翻譯人員。

11月28日和29日： 感恩節（學校放假）

12 月 前 瞻

幼稚園網絡申請將從12月初開始，凡出生於2015年的子女將都可以申請2020-2021學年入學就讀幼稚園。家長可以通過教育局的招生部門網站:  MySchools.nyc於2020年1月21日前遞交報名表格。幼稚園入學指南手冊已派發給學前班的學生帶回家。貴子女的學生ID已貼在指南手冊的封面上。

12月20日：冬季節日表演

2019年12月23日至2020年1月1日：寒假假期（學校放假）

2020年1月2日星期四：寒假假期結束，學生返回學校

3 de noviembre – 2 de la madrugada – cambio a horario de invierno (atrasar el reloj una hora)

 

4 de noviembre – P. S. 1 fotos – 8:20 de la mañana, auditorio,

(sobre retomas y faltas de asistencia para el 12 de noviembre – la foto de clase no se retomará)

Por favor asegúrese de que su hijo llegue a la escuela a tiempo para la foto.

5 de noviembre– Día de Elección (no hay clases para estudiantes)

11 de noviembre – Día de los Veteranos (escuela cerrada)

12 de noviembre – Fecha límite para entregar el formulario RFT (para tomar la prueba para el programa Talentoso y Dotado) para estudiantes Pre-K al 2. – Ya hemos distribuido los libretas de guía a los estudiantes.

14 de noviembre – Conferencias de Padres y Maestros (1:00 a 3:30 de la tarde y 5:00 a 7:30 del anochecer) – Los niños saldrán a las 11:30 am (medio día de clases).  Es una oportunidad para conocer y reunirse con los maestros de su niño para hablar sobre preocupaciones, aprender sobre el progreso y desarrollo de su niño en la escuela y recoger las calificaciones o “report cards.”  Habrá traductores en cantonés, mandarín, fujianense y español.

28 y 29 de noviembre – Receso de Acción de  Dar Gracias (escuela cerrada)

Una Mirada Hacia Diciembre

El proceso de la solicitud en línea de Kindergarten comienza en noviembre para las familias con niños que nacieron en el 2015– se puede solicitar a través del sitio web del Departamento de Educación:  MySchools.nyc, fecha límite 21 de enero de 2020 para el año escolar 2020 – 2021.

14 de diciembre – Asamblea de Invierno

23de diciembre de 2019 al 1 de enero, 2020 – Receso de Invierno (las escuelas públicas estarán cerradas)

Miércoles,2 de enero de 2020– Estudiantes regresan a la escuela.
